Communication Is The Key To Build A Relationship.

No one could read minds and know what you are thinking. Communication is the key to a healthy relationship because you have to ask question to get to know someone and what they may be thinking. When you communicate and you are comfortable with someone you will be very open with that person and you will be able to express you feelings and you can do so through verbal and nonverbal communication. Without communication their is no relationship, because if you cannot communicate where will the relationship come from...so in order to have a relationship you have to communicate.

Greeting and introductions are like chemical catalysts-they get things going. A greeting is an acknowledgement of someones presence and a introduction is a chance to show your respect for others and to create a favorable impression of yourself.

I personally think that the crime in Trinidad and Tobago is terrible. Their are so many innocent people being killed everyday, and now their is this curfew from 11pm to 4am and that still isn't helping out the situation much because their is still a lot of killing going on in this country. The ratio of murder in this country is so high until I think we place first or second in the world worst country. I think that-that is very terrible news, and I also think that something more should be done about the crime in this country, because this place is not safe. Now you have to be afraid to want to go any where because you never know if you would ever return to your home in one piece. So that's some of my thoughts about the crime in Trinidad and Tobago.

After reading the article Trip To Market Ends In Mom's Gruesome, my perception is that this person who were driving this vehicle had to be driving very fast because for this woman to die instantly and her body parts to be separated in that way the driver had to be not paying attention and driving to fast. I think that this situation is terrible, I could only imagine how her children are feeling now. David Evelyn maybe thought he was driving a plane where their is no one crossing or maybe he Don't see good. Government really need to do something about these speed driver.

Yes I use slang but not everyday in my conversation because you have to know when to use slang, for example you cannot use slang's in a formal situation like a job interview because it is inappropriate. You could use slang's in informal situation like when your hanging with your friends and so on. I think I use slang appropriately because I know when to use it.

Yes I am an effective verbal communicator because I am a good listener, I understand how to communicate with different type of people and to see their point of view. Yes their is clarity in my speech because I always speak as clearly as possible so I could get my message across, and yes I always try to demonstrate linguistic sensitivity.

What I Learn From The Culture I Presented In Clas

The culture I presented in class was the South African culture and I learn a lot of things that I never new that they use to do. For example they don't cut bread rolls, they break it into pieces on a side plate, they cross their knife and fork to indicate that they are still eating. They also greet one another by a shake of hands, but expect the women to greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. When visitors are coming over they must bring wine or flowers. South Africans dress in typical western attire, they don't wear sneakers or shorts. Their main dish is Palau and it is a sign of prosperity.  

What I Learn From The In-Class Presentations On Culture

I learn that in the Indian culture that the married women wear a red bindi in their head and the married man does not use anything to signify that they are married, and the women that are not married wear a black ticker in the middle of their forehead. Indians most popular dish is roti, curry potato and Channa, and curry chicken. I also learn about the Nigerian African culture that they arrange marriages for their children, and it is an abomination for their children to go out their culture and married someone in a different culture. Their are many different dishes that the Africans use. For example cassava, plantain, foo-foo, Palau and so on. I also learn about St.Kitts culture, that they were rich with sugar plantations and were consider the gateway to the Caribbean, and their favorite drink is breadfruit punch.    

How Dose My Culture Impact The Way I Communicate

My Culture has a pretty good impact on the way I communicate because I try and understand people from different cultures reaction and respond to various situations so i could be able to be a better communicator. Sometimes if I don't understand someone Else's culture  I may find myself giving of some nonverbal behaviors, that's why I always try to have a better understanding of most of the cultures because you wouldn't like other people from different cultures show you some nonverbal behavior towards your culture although you might still get it from some people.
